The story of ASML expats Raju and Sunita
Raju (44) and Sunita (41) are Indian expats who have been living in the Netherlands for four years. Raju works as a senior engineer at ASML, while Sunita runs her own IT business from home. The couple lives in a detached house in a quiet neighborhood in Veldhoven, an area that is increasingly attracting expats. When they bought their home, the garden was an outdated and uninspiring space of 400 square meters.
“In India, lush gardens are common, but in the Netherlands, the trend is sleek and modern, which we love. We had also designed our previous garden in a modern way, but what works in India is different from what works here. What’s the story of our family business?
Our family business was founded in 2016 from a shared passion for greenery and experience. With experience in the green sector and knowledge of theming from the amusement park industry, we joined forces to create gardens where relaxation and meeting are central. The switch from working in public spaces to the private sector took some getting used to, but turned out to be a golden opportunity. We have been growing fast since 2020, partly due to the increasing value that people attach to living enjoyment. Our team is steadily expanding, with Sisco still standing with both feet in the garden every day, while Chris and Ellen are in the office streamlining projects.
